कृमयो रुद्रलक्षाश्च विंशल्लक्षा गवादय:॥
स्थावरास्त्रिंशल्लक्षाश्च चतुर्लक्षाश्च मानवा:।
पापपुण्यं समं कृत्वा नक्षयोनिषु जायते ॥
अर्थ :-
(या जगात) 9 लाख जलचर आहेत, पक्ष्यांच्या दहा लाख,अकरा लाख किडे आहेत. वीस लाख गवे आहेत, तीस लाख झाडे आहेत आणि चार लाख माणसे आहेत. पाप आणि पुण्य जेव्हा समसमान होते तेव्हा मनुष्य जन्म मिळतो.

Hindi Translation (हिंदी अनुवाद)
(इस संसार में) 9 लाख जलचर (पानी के जीव) हैं, पक्षियों की संख्या दस लाख है, ग्यारह लाख कीड़े-मकोड़े हैं। बीस लाख चौपाये (पशु/गवे) हैं, तीस लाख वृक्ष (पेड़-पौधे) हैं और चार लाख मनुष्य हैं। जब पाप और पुण्य समान होते हैं, तब मनुष्य का जन्म मिलता है।"
English Translation (अंग्रेजी अनुवाद)
(In this world) there are 900,000 aquatic creatures, 1,000,000 types of birds, and 1,100,000 insects. There are 2,000,000 quadrupeds/cattle, 3,000,000 trees and plants, and 400,000 human forms. It is only when one's sins (demerits) and virtues (merits) become perfectly balanced that one is blessed with a human birth."
टीप / Note: यह सुभाषित प्रसिद्ध 'चौरासी लाख योनि' (84 Lakh Species/Life-forms) के चक्र को दर्शाता है, जहाँ कुल योग $9 + 10 + 11 + 20 + 30 + 4 = 84$ लाख होता है।
